I like the way he looks in this one better than the original one. The new head shape reads better. Might be the color, too.I think he might look better in a sweater or a turtleneck. The V-neck makes the base of his neck look a little bit weird to me.

You know, I think what it is is that his neck looks bigger than the collar. The V-neck might work if you make the hole wider.
I don't know if I like the cyan shirt but his design is good otherwise. His ears are really expressive. The fifth expression is a little too stretched out to me but it might work fine animated.
